My fifteen years of combined storytelling and communications experience span digital and print media, content strategy, social media, film, websites, advertorials, email marketing, brand and founder stories, print collateral, and events. I am a freelance writer and editor, brand storyteller, and content strategist for brands, businesses, and destination marketing organizations across wellness, regenerative/intentional travel, outdoor recreation, and destination stewardship.

Making Waves Events |

I saw a gap in creative community events that celebrated the outdoors while raising awareness and funds for the environment, so I started my own event series, Making Waves, first in Squamish in 2019, and then in Campbell River in 2023. I ideate, source films, speakers and brand partners, market, and host each event.

  • ARTIFISHAL, Squamish 2019

    My first event: ARTIFISHAL film screening, live music, and food with support from Patagonia Vancouver and A-Frame Brewing. A sold-out success.

  • Squamish Ski Movie Weekender, 2019

    Event #2: A two-day, sold-out event screening Roadless, Stages of Blank, and Nebula with support from Gibbons Lager, Teton Gravity Research, and Gogglesoc. Raised funds for Protect Our Winters. Speakers: Reuben Krabbe, Stan Rey, and Alexi Godbout.

  • Precious Leader Woman, CR 2023

    Event #4: Screening of Precious Leader Woman with shorts from Robin Van Gyn’s Fabric series. Speaker N'alag̱a (Avis O'Brien). Prize donations from Mount Cain, Beachfire Brewing, Marie France-Roy, Freyja - the croissant story and more.
